Phew, what a crazy and eventful night! Before I dive right into the big and exciting news I'll talk about the songs that ranked tonight first. First night and I'm pretty happy with the set list. There is a nice spread in variety of songs here. A nice selection of both NMB and SKE songs too. I'm hoping that there will be more HKT songs ranking tomorrow or the day after also hoping Ikiru Koto ranks! Since I voted for it.
A lot of popular songs like Ponytail, Beginner, and River have dropped quite a bit in ranking. Hopefully that will mean the next few setlists will have a lot of golden gems.
Really glad to see little Jo-chan back in her rightful place amongst her beloved members. Even a close up on the big screen *claps*.
I was jumping up and down when I refreshed my screen and saw Mosh&Dive! So much win! You guys know how much I spazzed over the PV, imagine the live...VTR. NOW.
Dakishimeraretara sounds very dangerous. The two most sexy members of 48G and little Ayananprobably should stop calling her little, since she's actually older than me by a few weeks who's arguably the most sensual Team 4 member. Very nice indeed.
Yay they performed new team songs! Team B and Team 4 will probably be performed tomorrow night. I've only recently heard Team A and K's new songs, and I found them mediocre at best. Interested to see the performance though.
Alright. Now lets talk about the elephant in the room. Formation of Team 8! Wait what-- they're being promoted by Toyota? Is this a joke? Another Eguchi Aimi? Please Aki-p, stop trolling. What? 1 girl will be selected from Japan's 47 prefectures? wow. This is news. Will they be travelling by Toyota cars? jeez. What a gimmick. So apparently their concept is based on "Idols that come meet you" --this just sounds wrong. I'm sorry, but this is the exact opposite of what AKB's foundation is built on. I seriously think this is just a one-shot gimmick where Toyota promotes the hell out of these girls and then the whole concept is dropped within the year. Oh look "Team 8 project" yes. PROJECT. I don't like this much. But I have to say I'm excited to see the possibilities. Does this mean Draftees will be pushed to the side momentarily? Nonetheless, this is the schedule:
Jan 24th: Audition applications start
Feb 23rd: Applications deadline
Later half of March: Formation of Team 8
May: Unrevealing of members in Team 8
August: Theatre debut, Toyota car campaign starts
November: National tour starts

Okay, so after much confusion as seen above. I've watched this video and come to the conclusion that this project doesn't sound as bad as I thought. Sorry for the rant.
There will not be 47 members. There will be a pool of 47 members, one from each prefecture and then a selection will be made out of 47 of them in which they will form Team 8. It is announced that they will be doing activities all over the nation, so I assume that's what the national tour is about. I feel much better knowing this and I'm anticipating the new members!
I bid you adieu with a quote from Takahashi Minami, "AKB48 really needs the power of young people. Without worrying about how it’s impossible, I want you to step forward and take this chance. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone! Let’s deliver our smiles to everyone through our activities" -- on auditioning Team 8 members.
